Prof Jim Al-Khalili, OBE is responsible for the public understanding of the impact of the project
Jim is a the first Surrey Professor of the Public Engagement in Science. He is an established author and broadcaster. He currently holds an EPSRC Senior Media Fellowship through which he is able to divide his time between academia and science communication. He is a past chair of the IoP Nuclear and Particle Physics Division and past SERC Postdoctoral Fellow and past EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow. He is a member of the Editorial Board for the journal PMC Physics A and an associate editor of Advanced Science Letters. He is vice president of the British Science Association, a senior advisor on science and technology for the British Council and Advisory Group member of the Cheltenham Science Festival. He is a recipient of the Royal Society Michael Faraday Medal for Science Communication.
