David Bowler performs Density Functional Theory for understanding the scanning tunnelling spectroscopy of impurity atoms at and near surfaces in silicon under Project 3.

David was awarded both an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship and a Royal Society University Research Fellowship (accepting the latter) and is Reader in the Department of Physics & Astronomy. He is lead developer of the linear scaling DFT CONQUEST code.
